Formula: weight (in kg) / [height (in meters)] 2

Example: Weight = 68 kg, Height = 165 cm (1.65 m)

Calculation: 68 ÷ (1.65)2 = 24.98

Interpretation of your BMI

  • If your BMI is less than 18.5 – you are “underweight”.
  • If your BMI is 18.5 to 24.9 – you are in “normal or healthy” weight range.
  • If your BMI is 25.0 to 29.9 – you are “overweight”.
  • If your BMI is 30.0 or higher – you are “obese”.
